BRETT BROWN is an award winning actor, baritone singer, and graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
He has appeared in over 60 professional productions with many of the world's leading theatre, film and music companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare's Globe, Wise Children, BBC, Working Title, Opera Australia and ABC Classic.
Brett is the Founder & Artistic Director of EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST an award winning theatre and music company which has presented acclaimed productions internationally since 2012. Recent productions include HENRY V [MAN AND MONARCH] (adapted from William Shakespeare) which has been seen in Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, United Kingdom, Australia and continues to tour internationally.
He is also a performance coach, helping actors achieve their creative potential, and non-actors and executives to become better communicators.
Brett recently appeared in Wise Children's critically acclaimed production of ROMANTICS ANONYMOUS directed by Emma Rice.
In 2019, he sang the world premiere of UNEXPECTED NEWS by acclaimed American composer Nico Muhly with the Omega Ensemble. A studio recording of Unexpected News was released internationally by ABC Classic and is available here.
Brett's solo concerts and recitals include BRETT BROWN SINGS HANDEL, ICH HABE GENUG, VIVALDI: LOVERS AND WARRIORS, POSTCARDS and TO SLEEP PERCHANCE TO DREAM featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Astor Piazzolla, Edith Piaf & Sam Smith, amongst others.
A regular on the international stage, Brett played the title role of HAMLET in Seoul, South Korea in collaboration with the contemporary dance company, ZeroPointMotion. In Denmark, he played Guildenstern in HamletScenen's acclaimed production of HAMLET at Kronborg Castle, Elsinore.
On the West End, Brett performed with Broadway star, Betty Buckley, in the UK première of Jerry Herrman's DEAR WORLD, directed by theatre legend Dame Gillian Lynne. He collaborated with award winning playwright Elizabeth Kuti on the world premiere of FISHSKIN TROUSERS. In OperaUpClose's Olivier Award winning production of Puccini's LA BOHÈME he created the role of Schaunard. His one-man performance of PHAEDRA, by the celebrated Greek poet, Yannis Ritsos, played to critical acclaim at the London Festival of Emerging Artists.
Brett is a Fellow of the Guild of Musicians and Singers, and a Fellow of the Institute of Arts and Letters (London).
He is currently creating his DEBUT ALBUM with one of Australia's leading music producers, Chong Lim AM, which will be released in 2021.
